Warm Springs Composite Products developed an industry-leading raw material called Tectonite, which is the basis for its full line of fire-rated door components.
A unique combination of diatomaceous earth, fiberglass, recycled wood fiber, and other ingredients, Tectonite was first developed and tested internally by Warm Springs Composite Products in 1993.
Since then, Tectonite continues to be tested and certified by at least five different testing agencies in order to expand our U.S. standard fire ratings of 20-90 minutes as well as both the British and European standards for up to 120 minutes.
Tectonite has also been subjected to numerous WDMA testing standards to meet or exceed the "Extra-Heavy Duty" requirements by a number of 3rd party laboratories.
Tectonite is known throughout the industry for these superior characteristics:
Tectonite is sold in half or full sheets of two standard sizes: 4-ft. x 8-ft. and 4-ft. x 10-ft. and can also be supplied in a variety of components including stiles and rails, blocking, banded mineral door core and as specialized products such as Concealed Vertical Rod stiles (CVRs).
*Tectonite is certified UBC 7-2 (1997) and UL 10(c) (1998), 20-90 minutes, British Standard 476, part 22, up to 120 minutes and European Standards EN 1634:2014 up to 120 minutes as a component for fire-rated doors in a variety of openings with all applicable hardware
